Keeping the conditions. Carry the evidence forward.

A proposed professional extension of the Evidence Observatory: curated, versioned records for a defined materials or formulation question.

Proposed development offer | Scope and delivery capacity to be agreed.

A result is useful when its context travels with it.

The proposed collection begins with a development question.

A formulation or ingredient team may need to compare several reported results without losing the preparation, conditions or endpoint behind each number. The proposed Evidence Collections would organise that record for a defined question: which evidence can be compared, what changes between the studies and what the next experiment would need to resolve.

The buyer would receive a structured analysis package rather than an indiscriminate feed of papers. The proposed first use is a technical team evaluating a bounded material function or comparative method. A broad automated recommendation of ingredients would require a different evidence base and is not the intended starting product.

For example, a team preparing a polymer comparison may find water-related observations reported under different conditions or on different preparations. The collection would retain those differences so that the evaluator can decide whether the numbers address the same question. The proposed value is an inspectable path from the source to the next study requirement, rather than a larger table that implies comparability because the values share a unit.

The existing Observatory is the starting point for the proposition.

Our public Evidence Observatory presents source-linked observations, units, conditions and hypotheses with downloadable data. It includes a separate friction analysis that follows published trial medians into the effect of measurement conditions. These views show how an observation can lead to a more specific question without presenting external research as a Bio finding.

The proposed commercial extension would add a buyer-defined scope, a controlled record version, an accountable review and an agreed refresh process. The present public pages are not a production API, a comprehensive literature database or evidence that a recurring professional service is already available.

The Observatory also illustrates why source context matters to product design. A published mean and its reported variation remain a summary, not reconstructed individual measurements. A computed molecular descriptor has a different status from an experimental material response. A professional collection would need to preserve these distinctions in its schema and review process so that downstream users do not mistake convenient formatting for equivalent evidence.

One question and a small, inspectable record.

Depth can create more value than an unmanageable source count.

A possible first collection is evidence relevant to a deposited-film material comparison. Each observation would retain the preparation, method, comparator, loading, units, endpoint, source location and relevant uncertainty. The analysis could separate directly comparable records from those that only suggest a hypothesis, avoiding a misleading combined ranking.

The proposed output would include a machine-readable record, a human-readable decision note and a change log. A developer could inspect the source basis; an application scientist could review the reasoning; a project sponsor could see which missing information affects the next commitment. That is the product hypothesis to validate.

The customer would identify the application, the decision being supported, the preparations of interest and the format its team can use. A reviewer would define the inclusion criteria and record why relevant sources were excluded or treated separately. Where units can legitimately be converted, the original value and transformation should remain visible. Where conditions prevent a valid comparison, the collection should preserve separate records rather than manufacture a combined estimate.

From a biological function to a material brief.

The application gives the science its next question.

VARUNÉ Bio API could carry the record into your workflow.

Integration should follow a useful collection.

The proposed API would be a delivery option for approved, versioned evidence records. A response should preserve source identifiers, observation context, units and limitations. It should distinguish a reported measurement, a computed descriptor, a calculated comparison and a proposed hypothesis. A correction should remain traceable to the affected version.

The first test should establish whether a customer actually needs programmatic access. A downloadable collection may be sufficient for an occasional decision. An integration could become useful where a team repeatedly uses the same schema or needs a defined update process. We would develop that capability around demonstrated workflow value rather than announce endpoints before they exist.

A prospective integration should be tested with the actual receiving workflow: can it retain units, distinguish missing data from zero and recognise that a source record has been corrected? Those behaviours matter more than the number of endpoints. A schema trial and a versioned sample file could establish the requirements before building a service. Authentication, support and operational commitments would then need their own development and acceptance criteria.

Source access is part of the product design.

A readable paper is not blanket permission to redistribute it.

PMC states that article licences vary and identifies the services permitted for automated retrieval. Springer Nature’s API terms also distinguish access permissions from reuse conditions. A commercial collection therefore needs a record-level rights basis and an appropriate retrieval route, rather than assuming that everything accessible online can enter a paid product (National Library of Medicine, 2026; Springer Nature, n.d.).

A proposed refresh would identify the sources checked, the review date, changed records and the consequence for the analysis. Weekly or monthly publication would be useful only where relevant new evidence warrants it. A dated collection with honest coverage can be more valuable than a nominally live feed that repeats unchanged information.

Existing search engines, publication alerts and supplier databases may already meet a team’s need for discovery. A paid collection should therefore justify the additional work through a specific review, consistent observation context or a maintained decision record. The buyer should be able to identify what has changed and why it matters. If a scheduled check finds no relevant change, the release should say so rather than imply fresh findings.

Prove the workflow before the subscription.

The first asset is a collection a technical team can use.

The opening milestone would be a rights-cleared sample collection for one buyer question, reviewed by appropriate scientific expertise. The next would be a user evaluation: can the team find the source, interpret the comparison and identify a useful next action? A paid pilot could be considered after the company can deliver the promised scope and support.

A later recurring model would require repeat use, meaningful refreshes and support costs that fit the price. The immediate invitation is to explore the public Observatory and identify a question your team returns to. That can help determine whether a custom collection, a discussion brief or future integration is worth developing.

The pilot would also need an agreed acceptance task. A user might be asked to locate a source observation, distinguish a calculation from a measurement and identify the missing condition that affects the proposed comparison. That tests whether the collection supports real scientific reasoning. A recurring contract or an API build would follow demonstrated reuse and feasible support, not simply a positive reaction to an attractive data visualisation.

Tell us which evidence decision your team repeats.

A short, non-confidential introduction can outline the application, the current approach, and where scientific input could help. Scope and next steps would be agreed around the actual project.
