Behind the images.
Source, creative treatment and scientific context for the material on this site.
VARUNÉ editorial research illustrations.
Three new conceptual images were generated for this website on 20 October 2026: a transparent membrane and droplet, abstract light-producing organic forms, and linked transparent spheres. They are artistic visualisations of materials, biological light, and inspectable evidence. They do not depict microscopy, verified molecular structures, VARUNÉ samples, products, or experimental results.
The Great Himalaya Range.
NASA Earth Observatory | An Astronaut’s View of the Himalayas. Astronaut photograph ISS053-E-357550, acquired 11 December 2017 by the ISS Expedition 53 crew. It shows the mountain range, including Everest, along the China–Nepal border. The NASA-published image is proportionally resized for the website, with layout cropping and no further colour treatment. NASA describes its published edition as cropped and contrast enhanced, with lens artefacts removed. It supplies geographic context, not a VARUNÉ field site or endorsement.
Midnight: measurement, biology and formulation.
A 19.2-second silent editorial film created on 20 October 2026 for the VARUNÉ Bio homepage. It connects three visual ideas: optical measurement, biological light and cosmetic texture. Excerpts from Optical equipment (0–7 s; licence 2GY8WXEAV6), Bioluminescent shoreline stock (2–9 s; licence 3WEM2PHNG4) and White cosmetic cream (2–9 s; licence 27XMN9WJQU) are joined by two 0.9-second crossfades. The opening and closing fade lasts 0.45 seconds.
The optical equipment and cream scenes receive a cool silver creative colour treatment; the marine scene has a restrained saturation and contrast adjustment. All are cropped proportionally. The film is delivered at 1600 × 900, 25 fps for desktop and 960 × 540, 24 fps for mobile. Still fallbacks are extracted from this edited film.
The imagery is licensed creative context. It does not depict VARUNÉ Bio premises, products, samples or experimental results, or establish a biological mechanism common to the three scenes. Scene controls, pause and play are available. Reduced-motion and data-saving preferences default to still imagery until a visitor chooses to play.
Explore: five scientific worlds.
New geography, wildlife and source media were checked on 20 October 2026. These are independent records and licensed visual context. They do not show VARUNÉ expeditions, samples or results, or imply endorsement by a source institution. Background films are silent excerpts with pause controls, responsive encodings and still-image fallbacks. Source colours are retained; displayed frames may be cropped proportionally by the layout.
Ross Sea and Arctic wildlife.
NASA Goddard: OIB — Across the Ross, filmed during Operation IceBridge’s 2013 Antarctic campaign. The polar background uses seconds 78–82, a landscape-only excerpt of sea ice and distant mountains, with source colour retained, audio omitted and a still extracted from the same sequence. This Antarctic footage is separate from the Arctic wildlife photograph.
Polar bear on the Beaufort Sea: Dr. Pablo Clemente-Colon | NOAA, via the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The asset is explicitly public domain. The original photograph is retained, with responsive layout cropping only.
Additional public-domain wildlife photographs are Polar bear walking the ice, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and Polar bear cubs, Suzanne Miller | USFWS. Original image files and colours are retained, with responsive layout cropping. The photographs show Arctic wildlife; their inclusion is not an account of company fieldwork.
NASA imagery is used for factual geographic context under its images and media guidelines. No NASA endorsement, partnership or product origin is implied.
The Himalaya, from orbit.
Day Pass Across Himalayas to Eastern Russia, NASA Crew Earth Observations, ISS Expedition 30, 29 December 2011. The silent background uses seconds 3–6 from the opening Himalayan part of this orbital time-lapse. The still is the source frame at 4 seconds. Source colours and the original aspect ratio are retained; the responsive layout may crop the view. The complete source continues beyond the Himalayan region and can be viewed at NASA. No company expedition, collection site or endorsement is implied.
Wildlife in its real habitat.
Wild snow leopard in Ladakh, India, T. R. Shankar Raman, 1 February 2018. CC BY-SA 4.0. Proportionally resized for web delivery, with original colours retained and responsive layout cropping. The displayed adaptation retains CC BY-SA 4.0.
Pacific walruses resting on the Chukchi Sea coast, Alaska, Elizabeth Powers | USGS, 2 September 2019. Public domain. The source records research permit MA801652-7. Original image and colours retained, with responsive layout cropping.
Bengal tiger at Bijrani, Corbett National Park, India, Soumyajit Nandy, 2 February 2016. CC BY-SA 4.0. Original image and colours retained; responsive layout cropping remains under CC BY-SA 4.0.
Asian elephant herd at Corbett National Park, India, Chinmayisk, 3 March 2011. CC BY-SA 3.0. Proportionally resized for web delivery, original colours retained, with responsive layout cropping. The displayed adaptation retains CC BY-SA 3.0.
These independently recorded photographs do not depict VARUNÉ field operations. Conservation illustrations on the site are original explanatory diagrams, not geographic distribution maps or measurements of conservation impact.
The Brazilian Amazon, in two observations.
Amazon Canopy Comes to Life through Laser Data, NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, released 12 June 2018. The rainforest background uses seconds 15–21, a documentary canopy shot. The selected excerpt excludes the film’s lidar visualisations. Source colour is retained, audio omitted and the poster extracted from the same shot.
Amazon rainforest satellite image: contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2019), processed by ESA. The Juruá and Tarauacá river landscape in Amazonas, Brazil, is shown in enhanced infrared colours. The original image is retained under CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO; responsive layout cropping is the only additional presentation treatment, and any displayed adaptation remains under that licence. This image does not establish the collection origin of a proposed material.
Living Light: visual context and observation.
The background uses the existing licensed BlackBoxGuild shoreline film. Its location and organism are unverified. It is separate from the documented Scripps Pier film by Michael Latz, linked for viewing at its original source.
Java milky-sea observation, acquired 4 August 2019: NASA Earth Observatory | Joshua Stevens, using VIIRS/Suomi NPP data and Miller et al. (2021). This is a processed night-time satellite image, not a conventional camera photograph or species identification. The original image is retained with responsive layout cropping. The complete NOAA Ocean Today film retains its separate manually played presentation.
Geothermal and volcanic records.
Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone National Park: National Park Service. This 26.26-second clip is explicitly public domain. The complete visual sequence is re-encoded as a silent, controlled background, with source colours retained and a still extracted from the film. The footage does not identify a particular strain or sampling site for a proposed material.
Kīlauea lava fountains, 24 December 2024: USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory | H. Winslow. Public domain. The complete visual sequence is re-encoded for manual playback; audio is omitted and an accessible visual-description track is added. The poster is a frame at 25 seconds. This is geological context, distinct from the marine and hot-spring habitats described in the research sources.
Material, light and discovery: new editorial films.
Three short silent sequences assembled on 20 October 2026 from footage already licensed to the VARUNÉ Bio website project. Each combines three five-second excerpts with two 0.7-second crossfades, giving 13.6 seconds of visual context. Desktop delivery is 1440 × 810, 25 fps, H.264; smaller mobile versions are 720 pixels wide at 24 fps. Source colour is retained; frames are cropped proportionally to fill the presentation. Audio is omitted.
These films are creative introductions, not a continuous experimental record or a depiction of VARUNÉ Bio facilities, samples, products or results. A pause control is available. Background films may repeat; visitors who prefer reduced motion or request data saving see a still until choosing to play. Scientific source videos and the complete NOAA film retain their separate, manually played presentation.

The surface and the cell.
Gu, H., Chen, A., Song, X., Brasch, M.E., Henderson, J.H. and Ren, D. (2016), Scientific Reports 6, 29516, Supplementary Movies S1–S2. CC BY 4.0.
Full-frame web encodings preserve the authors’ processed microscopy and tracking overlays, frame counts, 5 fps and encoded playback timing. S1 covers images collected over 198 seconds and plays for 24.8 seconds; S2 covers 41 seconds and plays for 5.2 seconds. Line width and top-versus-edge location both differ, so the pair is not a controlled width-only comparison.
Adaptations: AVI-to-MP4 encoding, poster extraction and descriptive accessibility tracks. These are external scientific observations, rather than Bio measurements or antimicrobial, safety or clinical evidence.
Bioluminescence, in nature.
NOAA Ocean Today | Bioluminescence | Original film, transcript and credits
The complete educational film is retained as a manually played, captioned source reference. Its original framing, narration, duration and credits are preserved in a web encoding. The official poster and English captions are carried forward from the earlier source package.
The film introduces natural bioluminescence. It does not depict Bio research, the NanoLuc reference structure or a product. NOAA’s reuse guidance and the credits within the complete film remain relevant. No NOAA affiliation or endorsement is implied.
Scientific references you can inspect.
The molecule viewer uses the externally sourced computed reference conformers already recorded in the site’s scientific material: PubChem water CID 962, glycerol CID 753, urea CID 1176 and N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosamine CID 24139. They establish specified molecular references, rather than selected Bio ingredients or a formulation simulation.
The protein viewer uses 171 unique chain A C-alpha coordinates from PDB 8AQ6, associated with Nemergut and colleagues’ NanoLuc research. Rotation changes the view of a static deposited conformation. It does not show molecular dynamics or a Bio-designed enzyme.
Published charts identify their source, units and reported uncertainty beside the values. Scenario calculators identify assumed inputs separately from external results. These references do not confer ownership or commercial permissions for the underlying technology.
Preparation, in three observations.
A 17-second original editorial assembly of licensed Envato stock: six seconds of the blue-lit pipette, the five-second mechanical stirring clip, then six seconds of analytical transfer. Licences 9Z2ARW7MNU, YAN4SUQ58G and 69JSY4CFKE remain assigned to “VARUNÉ Bio | Website rebuild 2026”.
Edited 15 October 2026. Hard cuts, proportional scale and padding to 1920 × 1080, 25 fps, H.264 CRF23, no audio or recolouring. The 425-frame sequence is stock visual context, not one continuous experiment, a university facility or Bio results.
Measurement, across instruments.
A 17.32-second original editorial assembly of licensed Envato stock: six seconds of microscope adjustment, six seconds of the optical bench and 5.32 seconds of column preparation. Licences M6EVUPX9AQ, 2GY8WXEAV6 and YS8XAKJQDT remain assigned to the same VARUNÉ Bio website project.
Edited 15 October 2026 with the same stated web treatment. The 433-frame sequence does not identify any sample, staff member or facility as belonging to Bio or a named university, and does not demonstrate a validated analytical workflow.
Academic scientific lenses.
The activity lens uses 306 unique chain A C-alpha coordinates and 43 haem atoms from PDB 1ATJ, the recombinant horseradish peroxidase reference associated with Gajhede et al. (1997). The coordinate extract and provenance identify the source hash, retrieval date and wwPDB CC0 usage policy. The C-alpha trace and haem atoms are a static deposited conformation, not molecular dynamics, a selected Bio ingredient or the exact assay preparation in a cited stress study.
Other academic 3D views are original schematic geometry. Their controls accompany defined capillary, phase-balance, photon-accounting, particle-weighting, diafiltration, dilute-screening or recovery references. The rheology cycle is a linear harmonic reconstruction from source-exact published moduli, rather than a recorded time trace. Each lens preserves its assumptions, units, sources and proposed next experiment. No institutional endorsement, measured Bio result, proprietary architecture or licensed university technology is implied.

Programme scientific lenses.
The programme experiences are original explanatory code and geometry, with defined mathematical assumptions and sources beside each model. They include supported-film diffusion, phase/speciation accounting, coherent-film reflectance, ideal continuous culture, recovery mass balances, spike recovery, nested study designs and relative temperature dependencies. Inputs and curves are scenarios, not Bio measurements or product specifications. The homepage rheology preview retains the source-exact observations and credits Woodbridge, Juel and Pereira Da Fonte (2025) under CC BY 4.0. Source points joined for navigation do not become a fitted model or independent replicates.
Each model names its geometry, conditions, units, and excluded effects. Commercial opportunities and downloadable study briefs are proposed discussion scopes; they do not establish laboratory capacity, a commissioned service, or institutional agreement.
The company and founder.
The current supplied dark-platinum VARUNÉ Bio wordmark and approved V favicon are carried forward from the October brand-update source. The footer uses an inverted display treatment with screen blending against pure black, so the artwork’s background matches the footer. The source artwork is unchanged. No replacement logo has been generated.
The portrait of Varun Sharma is supplied founder imagery carried forward from the existing site source. Its use here identifies the founder and is separate from research evidence.
Scientific equations.
