Who is responsible.

VARUNÉ BIOSYSTEMS LTD is registered in England and Wales under company number 16820832. Our registered office is 5 Brayford Square, London, England, E1 0SG. This notice covers website use and research, commercial, investment, press and other enquiries.

The information involved.

An enquiry requires your name, email address, enquiry type and message. You may also provide your organisation, role and programme interest. We receive information you choose to send in subsequent correspondence.

Website infrastructure may process technical request information, such as an IP address, browser information, request time and the page requested, to deliver and protect the service. Please do not send health information, patient-identifiable records or confidential inventions through the enquiry form.

• Optional professional details help us route and assess the enquiry.
• Technical request information supports availability and abuse prevention.

Why we use it.

We use enquiry information to assess and respond to your request, arrange relevant follow-up and maintain a proportionate business record. Our ordinary basis is legitimate interests: handling research and business correspondence and protecting our service.

Where we take steps at your request towards a contract with you personally, or perform that contract, the contract basis may apply. We may also retain or disclose information where necessary to meet a legal obligation. Sending an enquiry does not sign you up to a mailing list.

Your right to object.

You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests by emailing legal@varunebio.com. Tell us which processing concerns you and, where relevant, how it affects your particular situation. We will consider your request under the applicable data-protection rules.

Who can receive the information.

Access is limited to people who need it to handle the enquiry and the providers needed to operate the website and correspondence. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

Cloudflare hosts and protects the website. When you submit an enquiry, the website processes the form information and sends it through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) to alexandra@varunebio.com. Our receiving email service is Microsoft 365. Amazon SES is configured to use the Europe (London) region.

Cloudflare Turnstile checks technical signals, including IP address and browser information, to distinguish human visitors from automated traffic. Cloudflare processes those signals on our behalf to protect the form. It also acts as a separate controller when using signals to improve its bot detection. Its Turnstile Privacy Addendum explains that processing and how to contact Cloudflare about it.

Turnstile itself does not read the contents of your enquiry. The separate Cloudflare-hosted enquiry endpoint does process the form fields so that it can validate and deliver your message.

International processing.

These providers operate international services and may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Choosing the London SES endpoint does not mean that every part of email delivery, hosting, support or security processing takes place in the UK.

Our providers’ data-processing terms describe the safeguards they use for international transfers, including applicable adequacy arrangements and contractual safeguards. For transfers that require them, the providers’ published terms include the relevant Standard Contractual Clauses and UK arrangements. The provider terms and privacy information linked below explain their processing responsibilities. They do not replace our responsibility for the uses of information described in this notice.

How long we keep enquiries.

We retain routine enquiry correspondence for 12 months after the last meaningful exchange. We then delete or anonymise it unless specific records are needed for a resulting contract, a legal obligation or the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim.

When an exception applies, we retain only the relevant record for the period required by that purpose. An unrelated routine enquiry is not kept indefinitely simply because another relationship continues.

The website does not keep a separate database or application log of enquiry messages. Email correspondence is retained in our mail service under the policy above. Service providers may keep technical delivery, security and operational records for the periods needed to run and protect their services, investigate abuse and meet applicable obligations. Those records are subject to the providers’ terms and retention arrangements.

Cookies, preferences and analytics.

This website does not use advertising pixels, behavioural advertising or a marketing subscription. It stores your chosen motion setting in your browser so that the visual controls remember your preference. You can remove that preference by clearing this site’s browser storage.

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse prevention. Its security checks involve browser and network signals and may require a short interaction. The widget is configured without Cloudflare pre-clearance. The Turnstile Privacy Addendum describes Cloudflare’s use of those signals.

We do not use enquiry contents for website analytics. Our enquiry emails do not include open or click tracking.

Your data-protection rights.

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your information, correction, erasure or restriction. Data portability applies only where its legal conditions are met. Contact legal@varunebio.com to make a request; we may need proportionate information to verify who is asking.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data-protection regulator, using its complaints service. You do not have to obtain our permission before contacting the regulator.

Automated decisions.

The enquiry workflow does not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means. Automated checks can reject requests that fail validation or security checks. You can send a research or business enquiry directly to alexandra@varunebio.com if the form is unavailable.

Changes to this notice.

We will update this page if our processing arrangements change. The date above identifies this version.
