About VARUNÉ Bio

Research shaped by the formulation.

VARUNÉ Bio is an R&D company focused on ingredients and formulations for cosmetic and medicinal applications. Skincare is our first commercial focus.

Discuss a research programme

Start with a useful scientific question.

We are developing research directions around the relationship between molecular behaviour and formulation function. The question is what a material does in its intended setting, how that contribution can be explained and whether it offers a useful advantage.

Specialist collaboration and established facilities.

Our asset-light model is intended to bring together the expertise and facilities appropriate to each programme. Scientific scope, responsibilities and the intended use of results should be agreed before work begins. This site does not announce an operating company laboratory.

A coherent research focus.

Molecular formulation science provides the foundation. Our current programme-definition work concerns skin pigmentation, polar-associated polymers and biochemical light. Under-eye tone is the first proposed application within the skin programme.

Make the stage visible.

Our current work comprises literature synthesis and programme definition. Published research informs the questions; it is not presented as company experimental evidence. A proposed mechanism or material remains a research question until it has been tested appropriately.

The distinction from VARUNÉ Labs.

VARUNÉ Labs is a separate physical science-park development. VARUNÉ Bio is the R&D company, with a collaboration model based on established facilities. Bio is not described as occupying an operating Labs site.

Within the VARUNÉ portfolio.

VARUNÉ Bio is the ingredient and formulation research company in the founder-led VARUNÉ portfolio. Its legal entity is VARUNÉ BIOSYSTEMS LTD. The portfolio connects separately identified companies and programmes through their founder, Varun Sharma.

Our founder.

Varun Sharma founded VARUNÉ Bio to connect scientific questions with the people equipped to investigate them. His role is to shape the company’s direction and create the relationships needed for focused research.
