Turning an interesting effect into a better experiment.

Introduce scientific or formulation expertise that could strengthen a defined VARUNÉ Bio research package.

Careers and contribution | Expressions of interest.

The skill behind the conclusion.

We are interested in the part of a research question you can make more answerable.

A polymer scientist could help clarify preparation and material identity. A formulator could strengthen an application comparison. An enzyme or optical specialist could examine whether the proposed light measurement answers the intended use. Each contribution has a different purpose and should be scoped accordingly.

The useful starting point is your experience of a relevant method, the work you personally performed and a public or otherwise permitted example. A title alone tells us less than a clear account of the decision your expertise helped a team make.

Connecting preparation with a useful comparison.

Our polar-materials direction begins with a skin-formulation application focus.

A potential package could examine how a defined preparation behaves in a deposited layer and how to compare that behaviour fairly. Sample identity, the surrounding formulation, application conditions and an appropriate endpoint belong in the discussion.

An initial enquiry can identify the part you could address and the information needed to judge feasibility. It should not contain unpublished material from an employer or imply that strain access, facilities or experimental permissions have already been arranged.

Connecting the reaction with the intended task.

Our first intended setting is an inert surface or research tool.

Relevant expertise could involve active-component handling, material incorporation, reaction access or optical measurement. The first question is which of those contributions would determine whether a proposed comparison is worth undertaking.

We welcome a clear challenge to the brief. If an alternative method would answer the question more directly, that reasoning can be useful before a larger package is planned. A prospective contributor should be able to define the limits of what their methods would establish.

The application changes the question.

The applied layer, the conditions and the established alternative give the comparison its purpose.

Making interpretation part of the design.

A comparison should leave another scientist able to follow the conclusion.

Objectives, factors and the handling of variability are useful foundations for a study discussion (NIST/SEMATECH, n.d.). We would want the scientist responsible for a package to assess the controls, replication, uncertainty and analysis appropriate to its specific question.

The proposed output should identify what the data could support, which result would change the programme and what an inconclusive result would mean. This page is an invitation to discuss that work, not an approved protocol or active experiment.

(NIST/SEMATECH, n.d.)

Agree the work and the recognition.

A serious contribution needs an accountable arrangement.

The discussion would need to establish scope, facilities, responsibilities, timing, payment or employment terms where relevant, data access, confidentiality and permitted publication. Research contribution roles can be described using CRediT; that taxonomy does not determine authorship (NISO, n.d.).

Please introduce the scientific area you could strengthen, a relevant permitted example and the kind of engagement you are seeking. No vacancy or funded position is being advertised here. A suitable requirement would be confirmed separately with its actual terms.

(NISO, n.d.)

Strengthen the next comparison.

A short, non-confidential introduction can outline the application, the current approach, and where scientific input could help. Scope and next steps would be agreed around the actual project.
